I don't know where the past 2 week have gone but they went FAST. Wanted to share some fun we had 2 weekends ago at Penns Cave Wildlife Adventure and another one of my kid kraft parties at the park!
Saturday we met a group of friends to try out the Miner Maze and Wildlife Adventure at Penns Cave (about 15 minutes outside of State College). Penns Cave is known for their water cavern, we hadn't planned on doing that for this trip, which was a good thing. The rain from earlier in the week had forced them to shut the tours for the cave down. The kids had a blast at the maze. My little bee and I got done first and I was convinced that we had beat the shortest time (7 minutes)....low and behold we didn't. We finished in 14 minutes!
After the maze and a snack in the gift shop, we boarded the bus! We got the best seats...in the way back. The tour was about an hour & a half and we were able to see all sort of animals, from deer to bears! Both parents and kiddos had fun, this was my first time taking the tour and we will def be back (might make this an annual spring event)!
The following Sunday afternoon we met up again with our friends for a kids kraft party at Sunset Park. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I asked the kids to bring some leaves for painting.
Supplies needed:
- Paint, we used Crayola Washable Paint
- Assorted paint brushes
- paper (you want something a little thicker than regular paper)
we used 1/2 sheets of poster board - leaves
- Optional: aprons - I purchased these for a great deal on Amazon
The object was to paint the leaf then place it down with the paint against the paper to make a print, for the most part they did a good job. But even more important than that, they had fun! And of course no trip to the park is complete with out playing!!!!
