I have been planning this trip for a while and was bursting at the seams to tell the girls we are going back to DISNEY this year (i think they had a hunch we were going). This will be our first time visiting Disney as Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members, going with friends, oh and I'm pregnant! Sooo exciting! The cookies were made by my talented co-worker, Shannon's Creations. Let the countdown begin!!!!!!!!!!!

Well we got back last week...just now finally having time to sit down and do a review of our trip. We had a great time...lots and lots of walking (average 8 miles per day) but the girls did great, only a few complaints! We did take lots of little breaks, including waiting in lines. This was my first time at Disney with kids and since my last trip so much has changed with technology, crowds and all the stuff there is to do. Here are some tips to help if you are planning a trip to Disney:
Of course there were tons of fun things to do and see in Disney. Its impossible to see and to it all in one trip. Since it was the girls 1st time there, I tried to pack as much fun in as I could. Here are our favorite rides/attractions/things to see and do: (FYI we have a 4 year old and a 6 year old that have deemed themselves Princesses!!!) Hollywood Studios:
Ahhh - now I can sit back and enjoy all the pics and stories the girls tell about our Disney Vacation! Hoping for another trip soon! :)
Bags packed and we are ready to go. Our flight doesn't leave until early evening, so we all headed to school and work for a half a day. Details to come when we come back from our trip!!! Off to enjoy the MAGIC that is Disney!! :)
One more day, one more day! The girls are FILLED with excitement and I'm sure seeing their Magic Bands didn't help calm them down!!!! Mickey sent our Magic Bands in the mail (very excited to use these). I bought fun decals for the girls and put them on before they were given to them. I purchased the decals from Swamp Ink Digiital Printing. Now off to finish packing.
TWO MORE DAYS!!! Today I gave the girls autograph books and pens! I made these books from a spiral sketch notebook, Disney scrapbook paper and stickers. The book I purchased from Amazon (what can I say - they have just about everything!), the pack of Disney paper I picked up at Michaels Craft Store, and the stickers from miscellaneous places. I used my Cricut cutter to cut out their names, glued them down and used modge podge over top. I had fun putting these together and hopefully we can add some pictures when we get back so they each have it as a keepsake.
Since I took care of most of the packing, I thought it would be a great idea for the girls to get their carry-ons ready. We have about a 2 hr drive to the airport, so I am hoping we can arrange things in their bag for easy in and out. Our must haves:
To add to their carry-on the girls got these personalized water bottles. I purchased these from Swirly Twirly Designs. The girls absolutely love them! Here is their suitcase...I used gallon sized Ziplocs, labeled the day it was for and put all their clothes in (including undies). I was pleasantly surprised how little room everything took up once we packaged everything. I will def be using this method on future trips.
Today starts our official count down to Disney and is our first Disney Dinner and a Movie night. I had so much fun planning these, I can't wait to share them. Tonight our dinner was Toy Story themed and we just started watching Toy Story 2!
Here was our menu for tonight:
I think it goes without saying that I knew the girls would be over joyed when we told them we were going to Disney...but to add to the fun I decided to do a big reveal and a countdown. Throughout the summer I have been stocking up on goodies for our trip (the $1 store, 5 Below and Michael's and I have become good friends)! I have read plenty on things to buy before you go...here are some of the goodies I purchased to take along with us:
The girls have been working hard at earning their Disney Dollars. To announce the trip I found backpacks with their favorite princesses (which they will use for their carry ons) and had gotten them each a mini doll cake (the cakes were made by Shannon's Creations) and note from their favorite princess. Big Bee's note was from Ariel and Little Bee's note was from Elsa (you will see this theme of their princess carried for the rest of our countdown!). They are both excited!!! To help us countdown I found a cute idea for a paper chain countdown that I couldn't pass up from Grey Luster Girl. Must be for my LOVE of Mickey Mouse. On the inside of mine I placed an activity for the day, there were a few days were the girls got a small gift so i marked those as "Disney Gift". More of our countdown to come! DISNEY OR BUST!
