The biggest hit for our last countdown was my Disney Dinner & a Movie! So of course I had to work quite a few in for this one. We kicked it off with Tangled. We have seen this movie quite a few times, it ranks on the top of my charts. Tangled Menu: Hot Dog...Hot Dog...Hot Diggity Dog. Saw this cute idea for a club house themed birthday party, but thought it was perfect for our countdown. Here is our menu: I have been planning this trip for a while and was bursting at the seams to tell the girls we are going back to DISNEY this year (i think they had a hunch we were going). This will be our first time visiting Disney as Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members, going with friends, oh and I'm pregnant! Sooo exciting! The cookies were made by my talented co-worker, Shannon's Creations. Let the countdown begin!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one Disney movie I have never seen before. I found it for a steal on Amazon.com, and used it as one of the girls Easter gifts. Our menu consisted of Buck's Bacon Burgers, Grace's Garden veggies and dip, Ms. Calloway's Crinkled Fries, and Maggie's Milkshakes. It was a pretty cute movie, not one of my all time favs but Disney cute none the less!
My hubs was gone for the weekend, so it was just us girls...dinner, movie, slumber party in the living room! The girls decided on Sleeping Beauty for out dinner and a movie. The highlights were Royal Crown Sandwiches, Princess Punch and Fauna's Frumpy Cupcakes! For a PDF version of tonight's menu: http://busybeesinhappyvalley.weebly.com/dinner-and-a-movie.html
I had every intention on posting updates of our 25 days of Christmas, but the holiday season got the best of me! Here is a quick recap and to hoping I'll get my act together! We did snowflake canvas painting. The girls enjoyed it and we have some nice art for their play room! We love Beauty and the Beast at our house, so we were so excited to find Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas and of course made it into a dinner and movie night. I even made the Grey Stuff! It was delicious! I used this recipe. Our elf Molly had some fun decorating the girls' bedroom door. The girls thought this was so amusing and asked Molly to do ALL the doors at our house. Needless to say Molly did not do anymore. My little munchkins started ballet this year and preformed in The Nutcracker. I must say after all the weekly classes and dress rehearsal it was worth it (I'm so not a "dance" mom). They looked so cute on stage and had so much fun.
Last year we welcomed Molly the Elf and a countdown to Christmas for the month of December. Molly is our Elf on the Shelf. We don't really follow all the rules, like not touching the Elf because it will loose its magic, but the girls love looking for Molly every morning and honestly I have fun with it too. We had so much fun last year, we are doing it again!!!! Our countdown consist of events, crafts, activities and sometimes gifts. Today we kicked it off with the arrival of Molly and some foam Christmas ornaments.
Yesterday was an "unofficial" countdown day...we got our tree. Well we got back last week...just now finally having time to sit down and do a review of our trip. We had a great time...lots and lots of walking (average 8 miles per day) but the girls did great, only a few complaints! We did take lots of little breaks, including waiting in lines. This was my first time at Disney with kids and since my last trip so much has changed with technology, crowds and all the stuff there is to do. Here are some tips to help if you are planning a trip to Disney:
Of course there were tons of fun things to do and see in Disney. Its impossible to see and to it all in one trip. Since it was the girls 1st time there, I tried to pack as much fun in as I could. Here are our favorite rides/attractions/things to see and do: (FYI we have a 4 year old and a 6 year old that have deemed themselves Princesses!!!) Hollywood Studios:
Ahhh - now I can sit back and enjoy all the pics and stories the girls tell about our Disney Vacation! Hoping for another trip soon! :)
Bags packed and we are ready to go. Our flight doesn't leave until early evening, so we all headed to school and work for a half a day. Details to come when we come back from our trip!!! Off to enjoy the MAGIC that is Disney!! :)
