We had a very busy Sunday! We started off at the Native American Pow-Wow that was held at Mount Nittany Middle School. This was our first time attending (and sadly maybe our last as it was announced it will not be returning next year). I was so intrigued by the outfits and the age range of the people participating. It was great to see so many younger people taking part in this tradition. After the Grand Entry, others were allowed to join in on the dancing. Personally I could have stayed all day and watched them dance and listen to the beat of the drums!
Since there was a fairly large group of us that met to see the Pow-Wow and we all decided to continue the fun and hit up Home D Pizzeria for some grub. We had great food and service and I know all of us adults were impressed at how well the kiddos behaved! Next up was the International Children's Festival. This was also the first time that we attended this event. The kids were allowed to pick up a passport at check in and could be stamped at each country. There were crafts from different countries, performances and a dessert area where you could try desserts from different countries. My girls loved getting some henna done on their hands and all the crafts. Oddly enough they both picked a butterfly for their henna design. We will definitely attend next year!
