I have been thinking every which way to get out of coloring Easter eggs. I just foresee spills and broken eggs everywhere. I decided to go a nontraditional route and color paper eggs using chalk.
I used sheets of card stock, Crayola chalk and used this egg template: Egg Template
I used parts of a cardboard box to tape the eggs down too. It gave the kid something hard to color on and a background that I was ok with if it got dirty.

They dipped the end of the chalk in water and colored away (surprisingly they went fairly easy on the water - about 5 dips, I think you could probably use a little bit more if you wanted). Allow them to dry and carefully peel off tape. Tada!!!
